This Hand-formed Sculpture is my response to living slowly in a fast world. I shaped it directly in my hands from sustainable, pulped materials, working without templates or molds. Each curve and edge reflects a moment of decision-a pause, a press, a slight adjustment-until the piece settled into the form you see now. There will not be another like it.

I start by reclaiming paper and plant fibers, softening them back to a workable state, then building them up again into a dense, sculptural mass. As it dries, the material records subtle movements: faint undulations, small shifts in plane, delicate transitions between smooth and textured areas. In daylight, these nuances become more pronounced, giving the sculpture a quiet sense of movement even while it rests.

The proportions make it a natural fit for an entry console, bookshelf, or low cabinet, where it can greet you as you walk by. It sits comfortably in both pared-back, minimalist settings and more eclectic interiors, adding a touch of tactility and calm. The neutral, organic hue means it will pair easily with wood, linen, and stone.

Despite its solid appearance, the sculpture is light enough to be moved with ease. I apply a protective finish to help it live well in everyday home conditions, while still allowing the surface to feel honest to the touch-neither glossy nor overly refined.

If you are seeking a singular object that reflects care for both material and space, this piece offers a quiet anchor. It carries the history of what it once was, transformed through time and touch into something meant to stay with you for years.
